WHAT IS WINGTONS GLAMPING?

Wingtons Glamping offers a unique and exclusive holiday experience in the heart of the Tamar Valley. Beautifully appointed large canvas Prospector tents only metres away from the shores of the river, give you the opportunity to escape everyday life and get close to nature.

Each safari tent has been fitted out with European wood fires to keep you cosy and warm at night, queen size beds dressed with fine linen, antique steamer trunks and Persian style carpets to create an atmosphere that could only be described as absolute luxury. We also include some of life’s modern conveniences such as an ice box to keep your wine/food cool, electric lighting, Bose Bluetooth speakers to create the mood and the ability to charge your mobile phone or small device.

The sites come with your own private fire pit and deck; a Weber Baby Q BBQ and teak dining suite will make cooking your fresh Tasmanian produce a treat.

To make our sites even more convenient we have created unique private bathrooms with flushing toilets, hot showers and of course luxury eco friendly bathroom products and plush bathrobes.

On arrival make your way to Westwynd Cottage to check in. Your hosts will be onsite at all times to assist with your queries and can be reached by phone/message/WhatsApp.

YOUR HOST

After 9 years of living in Melbourne Nathaniel Wicks decided to fulfil a lifelong dream for a simpler life and moved to Tasmania in November 2015 with the grand plan to launch Wingtons Glamping.

The old Westwynd Cottage location and its grounds had all the character, the river views, and the natural bushland to make a perfect site for the project. Since the move they have restored the old house to its former glory, begun revegetating the natural landscape by planting almost a hundred native trees and built a magnificent macrocarpa deck by milling old fallen logs.

Nathaniel considers it a great honour to carry on the role of protecting and sharing the beauty of the Tamar Valley with their guests. Their goal is to nurture an environment in harmony with the nature and history of the area while allowing the guests to enjoy a relaxing camping experience.

The glamping site is designed to be an antidote to all that is formal, artificial or contrived. By focusing on the essence of things, they hope to offer you a welcome retreat in tune with the spirit of the Tamar Valley.
